نامه مینو همیلی به نخست وزیر کانادا در مورد دانشجویان زندانی

آقای استیفن هارپر نخست وزیر محترم کانادا

من این نامه را مینویسم تا توجه شما را به دستگیری های اخیر دانشجویان ایران جلب کنم در طول هفته های اخیرمأموران انتظامی ایران دانشجویان که چیزی جز آزادی و حقوق اجتماعی نمیخواستند را

به شدت سرکوب کرده اند. من یک شهروند کانادایی هستم  زندانی سیاسی سابق که از رژیم ایران زجر و سختی کشیده ام من 15 سایه بودم که به خاطر داشتن یک اعلامیه سیاسی دستگیر و 4 سال را درزندان گذراندم از سالهای زندان من خاطرات تلخ و درد آوری از شکنجه اعدام و اذیت و آزار دیگران دارم بلخره من از زیر چنگال آنان نجات پیدا کردم و به همراه دخترم در کانادا ساکن شدم. به عنوان یک زندانی سیاسی سابق و مثل دهها هزار ایرانی دیگر که در گذشته و هم اکنون زندانی رژیم ایران بوده و اذیت و آزارشده ایم میدانیم این رژیم در مقابل مخالفان سیاسی به شدت و بی نهایت بی رحم است

این همان دولتی است که مأموران اطلاعاتی و انتظامی آن زهرا کاظمی شهروند کانادایی و بسیاری دیگر مثل زهرا کاظمی را در گذشته کشته و هنوز هم به کشتار و شکنجه ادامه میدهند بدون آنکه کسی جوابگو باشد آقای نخست وزیر در مدت چندین هفته بسیاری از فعالین دانشجوی ایرانی در ارتباط با تظاهرات آرام که دربزرگداشت روز دانشجو16 آذر بوده است دستگیر شده اند و شکنجه تهدید و حتی شکسته شدن دست و پای بعضی از دستگیر شدگان گزارش شده است بسیاری از دانشجویان زیر شکنجه جسمی و روحی هستند و هدف اصلی رژیم شکستن زندانیان و وادار کردن آنها به اعترافات دروغین است گزارشات تأیید میکنند که 2 زندانی در زیر شکنجه کشته شده اند قتل آنها به عنوان خود کشی اعلام شده ا ست و جسد ها را به جای تحویل دادن به خانواده ها دفن کرده اند

آقای نخست وزیراین لحظات بسیار حساس در تاریخ مبارزات  مردم ایران است سرنوشت دانشجویان دستگیر شده در دست همان مأموران و مقاماتی است که زهرا کاظمی و هزاران هزارامثال وی را کشته اند طبق شواهد خانواده های زندانیان چند نفر به نام های بهروز کریمی زاده سعید حبیبی پیمان پیران امین قضایی سروش شبستانی  بیژن صباغ مهدی گرایلو و مجید اشرف نژاد  بشدت شکنجه و موقعیت آنها بسیار نگران کننده است 

   رژیم اسلامی ایران چه در گذشته و چه حال عملأ نشان داده است که تحمل مخالفان سیاسی و گرد همایی آنها را ندارد این یک واقعیت جدی برای نگرانی در مورد دانشجویان دستگیر شده و اینکه            

سرنوشتی همانند زهرا کاظمی پیدا کنند است آقای نخست وزیر با توجه به سابقه کانادا در مطرح کردن نقض حقوق بشر در ایران از دولت شما تقاضای جدی و فوری داریم که ار نفوذ و قدرت خود برای بیان نگرانی کانادا در مورد سرنوشت این دانشجویان استفاده کنید

To : The Right Honorable Stephen Harper Prime Minister of Canada

Dear Mr. Prime Minster,

I am writing this letter to draw your attention to the recent wave of arrests of university students in Iran .

During the past several weeks, the Iranian intelligence and security forces have launched a widescale crackdown on university students and their legitimate demands for freedom and civic rights. I am a Canadian citizen and a former political prisoner from Iran who has suffered greatly in the hands of the Islamic government of Iran while back home.

At the age of 15, I was arrested for possessing a political pamphlet and spent 4 years in prison. During those prison years, I experienced tremendous distress - witnessing torture, execution, and horrible sufferings. Finally I was able to escape the oppression, and eventually came to safety in Canada with my daughter.

As a former political prisoner and the same as tens of thousands of other past and present political prisoners who have suffered in the hands of the Iranian regime, I have learnt about the psyche and the degree of the brutality of this regime when dealing with their political opponents and voices of dissidents.

This is the same government whose intelligence and security forces have killed Canadian citizen Ms. Zahra Kazemi and many others like her and continues to do so without being held accountable to its crimes.

Mr. Prime Minster,

During the past few weeks many of the student activists have been arrested in connection with a peaceful demonstration commemorating the Students Day on December 7th. There are many reports of the captured students being threatened, tortured, some had their arms and legs broken, and all being subjected to other means of physical and psychological torture in order to break them down and obtain false confession from them. In some cases, there are confirmed reports of at least two cases of death under torture in which the families of the victims have been told that the prisoners committed suicide. In both cases the bodies were buried by the prison authorities and covered by concrete, before informing their families.

Mr. Prime Minister,

These are very sensitive times for the Iranian people and their struggle for freedom. The fate of the arrested students are in the hands of the same authorities who have tortured and killed Zahra Kazemi and tens of thousands of others like her.  According to the families of the students, several captive students Behrooz Karimizadeh, Saeed Habibi, Peyman Piran, Amin Ghazie, Soroushe Shabestani, Bizhan Sabagh, Mehdi Garailou, Majid Ashrafnezhad have been brutally tortured and their situation is quite worrisome. The Islamic government of Iran has demonstrated in the past and continues its absolute intolerance towards political opponents and any peaceful gathering of dissidents or even ordinary citizens of Iran . There is a real cause for serious concern about the fate of these students and the fact that many of them might end up with the same fate as that of  Zahra Kazemi.
